Vivi Yukino[1] (雪乃ビビ) is the leader and the sole female member of the Mystery Skulls. She is also the former sweetheart of Lewis.
Appearance[]
Vivi stands slightly shorter than Arthur and has a petite build with very light skin. She has blue eyes and short, shoulder-length blue hair.
She typically wears a long blue scarf, a blue, puffy sweater with a short blue skirt, short heeled blue Mary Jane shoes with thigh-high blue stockings and a darker blue headband on her head.
She also wears magenta eyeglass lenses, which is likely an homage to her amnesia proceeding the incident within The Cavern, though this has yet to be confirmed.
Personality[]
Vivi is very enthusiastic about the paranormal investigations that she and her friends have. She is brave and courageous, not only does the haunted mansion make her happy, but she throws herself in between Arthur and Lewis, ready to take a hit to protect her friend. She cares deeply about her friends and worries for the well-being of others, seeing as she does not allow Chloe to participate in the investigations due to her age. She appears to be a somewhat lazy person as she spends most of "Freaking Out" and the first half of "Hellbent" asleep and looking irritated when people wake her up. She can be greedy or have a big appetite, as seen in Ghost where she and Mystery trash the pantry and make a big sandwich.
History[]
Pre-Ghost[]
Vivi was part of a paranormal investigation group formed by her and Lewis along with their friend Arthur, she was in a relationship with Lewis at the time. Arthur seemed to be about their relationship but we still don't know why. Nor, if she had noticed or observed it at the time. Things remained that way until they explored a haunted cave outside of town. The group decided to investigate and split into two groups when there was a fork in the cave. By parting ways, Vivi had taken one direction, while Lewis, Arthur, and Mystery went another. However, she only led her to an empty pit filled with stalagmites, over which Arthur, Mystery and Lewis' path led them. As Lewis attempted to turn back, Arthur became possessed by a malevolent spirit and pushed him off the edge of the cliff, resulting in his death. Mystery sees him and rips his arm off.
Vivi witnesses the horrified and flabbergasted scene up close, also possibly the Lewis transformation. This traumatizing episode was seemingly erased from her memory by Lewis' ghostly powers.

Arthur[]
Arthur is Vivi's friend and a member of her team. They seem to be good friends who care about one another to the point where Vivi will protect him at the cost of her own safety. Arthur was the one who dragged Vivi away from Lewis and pushed her into the van to make a hasty escape.
Mystery[]
Vivi is the owner of her pet dog, Mystery. They are also part of the same team and greatly care about each other. When Shiromori threatens Vivi, Mystery willingly sheds his own blood to distract her and prevent her from finishing Vivi off, in turn, Vivi fights without hesitation against an enemy many times stronger and more experienced than herself to save Mystery. Mystery receiving an apparently mortal wound from Shiromori angered Vivi enough to kill the latter in a single hit.
Lewis[]
Lewis was part of Vivi's paranormal investigation team before his death. The two of them were dating, much to Arthur's dismay, and seemed to have been a happy couple. When Lewis died, Vivi was present to witness his untimely demise as she took the lower path in the Cavern. However, it appears that she lost her memories not only of that night but also of Lewis entirely. When they meet again after his death, she has no recollection of who he is. Lewis still has feelings for her even after his death and stops in his tracks trying to kill Arthur when Vivi jumps in between them, ceasing his wrath driven behavior immediately. When she's forced to leave the mansion, Lewis's heart cracks and turns blue in grief. In the episode "The Future", we can see Lewis come running towards her to aid her as she got knocked into a van by a corrupted Mystery.

Duet[]
Duet is Vivi's boss at her "actual" job. Being a rather mysterious person, Vivi has failed to find out too much about them.
Chloe[]
Another person at Vivi's workplace is Chloe. Vivi has thus far refused to let Chloe join the Mystery Skulls due to her age and reasoning. Whether it is because of this or something more, Chloe does not appear to like Vivi. The two of them get along, though, probably for the sake of work.[2]
Mr., Mrs., and Grandma Yukino[]
Vivi's father, mother, and grandmother, respectively.[1] Vivi's father and grandmother are Japanese and her mother is American. Little is known about her relationship with them, but they all seems to share a certain fashion choices (like wearing glasses and scarfs) indicating they're rather close with each other. Vivi seems to particularly taking after her mother, having a similar hairstyle, wearing a similar turtleneck, and having a similar warm, bright and cheery personality. However she also seems to be influenced by her other relatives, as she is also wearing bright blue socks like her father and glasses with pink shades like her grandmother.
Mushi[]
This sword-wielding magic warrior from Ancient Japan is presumed to be Vivi's distant ancestor. During the battle against Shiromori, Vivi received a vision of Mushi bequeathing her power onto her, allowing Vivi to use ice magic at will.
Shiromori[]
Vivi fought relentlessly to protect her friend Mystery from Shiromori, managing to narrowly defeat her, but sparing her at Mystery's behest. However, after Shiromori rejected their mercy and seemed to mortally wound Mystery, Vivi, infuriated, smashed the bonsai demon's heart out of her body, destroying her instantly.
Abilities[]

- Baseball Bat: Vivi wields a metal baseball bat with great skill and is able to keep pace with the much more experienced and supernaturally strong Shiromori.
- Strength: She is strong enough to lift, Arthur and Mystery, and hit hard with her bat, as in '' Ghost '', '' Hellbent '' and '' The Future ''.
- Endurance: She is very enduring, in '' Ghost '' able to run for a long time in the mansion. During the vehicle chase, she accidentally receives her beat on the head and regains consciousness afterwards. Does not seem at all affected by shock, perfectly capable of acting and interacting. Even wounding or using his power for the first time, during his fight against Shiromori for example. But has certain limitations.
- Speed, Reflex and Agility: Vivi is very fast, lively and agile, capable of acrobatics, jumping and skillful landing. During a mad race in the mansion with his friends they narrowly avoid a knight's sword. She jumps the highest although the landing leaves something to be seen, the rymthe is quite good. During his clash with Shiromori, show great agility and skill to even ride Mystery easily. Despite, the roller coaster that has occurred.
- Cryokinesis: Vivi has shown the ability to channel ice magic through her baseball bat. It can be surmised that she has access to this power through her bloodline as a distant descendant of Mushi. At the start, this ability seems to be unconscious, but after receiving a vision of Mushi in a snowy forest, Vivi can now use it at will.
- Icy Weapon: When Vivi wields her baseball bat with the ofuda talisman attached in battle, it glows faint blue, indicating the presence of an icy aura. When Shiromori touched the bat with her bare hand, it immediately froze over.
- Icy Burst: Vivi can slam the ground with her bat, unleashing a wave of sheer cold. This attack was effective at freezing and shattering Shiromori's roots.

- Her character can be described as a cross between Daphne Blake and Velma Dinkley from the American animated television series Scooby-Doo. According to Mystery Ben's Blog, Vivi's design is inspired by several different sources.[3] Her hair and scarf designs are influenced by Yoko Littner and her outfit is a combination of Velma and Daphne's outfits. Her color scheme is inspired by Vinyl Scratch and Mega Man. She may also be inspired by Nefeltari Vivi from One Piece, with whom she shares a name and hair color with as Vivi is Japanese on her father's side.[4][1]
- According to the Mystery Skulls work stream, she lacks a nose due to her ancestor's design being based on Musashi.[5]
- Vivi likes horror games like The Last of Us. She would often trick Arthur into watching or playing a game that is of the horror genre that he would later drop out on.[6]
- Vivi's blood type is B. According to blood type personality theory, people with blood type B are thought to be passionate, active, creative, animal-loving, flexible, cheerful, friendly, optimistic, and vocal about their personalities; but also irresponsible, forgetful, selfish, lazy, impatient, unreliable and "going own way."
- Vivi's flower that appears on Shiromori is a blue orchid.[7] Blue Orchids often represent love, rarity, beauty, and strength.
- Her instrument is a Guitar.
- The baseball bat that Vivi uses to fend off Shiromori in "Hellbent" has a kanai anzen on the handle, visible after the bat is knocked from her grasp. A kanai anzen is a Shinto omamori talisman bearing the kanji 家内安全, which literally means "please keep my family from harm." Interestingly, the talisman is not visible immediately before she grabs the bat to fend off Shiromori.
- According to this height reference, Vivi is about 5 Foot 10 Inches tall (hair not included).
- Her turtle plushie, first seen in Hellbent, is named Boku.[8] According to a work stream, Boku was named by Ben's niece.[9]
- It is unknown if Vivi knows how to speak or read Japanese, given her heritage.
- "Vivi" is usually a short from Vivian, Olivia, or Sophia, but it's unknown which one (if any) is her full name.
